“I want to tell my story and, even though losing my hair was one of the hardest things I’ve had to mentally cope with through this journey, it is part of my story and I don’t want to forget that.” – Chandra; breast cancer survivor
Chandra is a friend, a coworker, a light for the Lord and a fighter. When she came to me with the special request of taking portraits of her before she finished chemotherapy, I knew that her session would be the most emotional session I would probably ever shoot. Chandra has Stage 2 breast cancer and chose to undergo a rigorous chemotherapy regimen that would have her chemotherapy completed in 4 months. This woman is STRONG and so full of life.
The most beautiful thing about Chandra is that she is fighting hard, but she is smiling all the while because she is alive. I’m so blessed to know her and am so thankful I was able to see the vulnerable side of her journey through breast cancer and her powerful reliance on God.
Grab your tissues; you’ll need them!
What a gem, she is 😉
The vulnerability…
So beautiful.
Thank you, Chandra. You are golden.
Blessings,
Chelsea
