Welcome to the blog! Today, we’re sharing a recent Suffolk, Virginia maternity session that we photographed at Lake Meade Park. A hidden gem in our opinion, Lake Meade Park offers beautiful wooded paths and a great view of the Nansemond River that is particularly beautiful at sunset. Never too busy with other patrons, we’ve had our own family photo shoot here and highly recommend choosing this park for a session any time of year. Although we usually avoid doing many outdoor sessions during the winter months because of the lack of greenery, this park still offers a beautiful backdrop even in January, when this session was photographed.
I’ve known Sakina for 14 years, which is wild to say, but she was one of the first people I met when I moved to Virginia from Arkansas after high school. We worked at the mall together in a retail store and spent 3 years working together. After working together years ago, we didn’t see each other often over the last 10 years so I was thrilled to find out that we actually both live in Suffolk now. Lake Meade Park was the perfect place to meet up for her maternity session and I loved catching up with her as she prepared for the arrival of her little girl.
Sakina, you are such a beautiful mama. I loved doing this session for you and I am wishing you all the best with you sweet little girl!
