Brenna & Hunter are officially married!!
We have been anticipating their wedding day for such a long time that, honestly, we’re a little sad to see it come to an end! We shot Brenna & Hunter’s engagement photos over a year ago in the city they now call home; Richmond, VA. Although this was the first time we had met Hunter, Brenna and I grew up alongside each other in the church her dad used to pastor in Virginia Beach. I’ve known her sweet family for over a decade and nothing made me more excited than when Brenna reached out to ask us to photograph her wedding day. Watching your friends grow up through social networking is great and all, but being able to actually help capture memories that they will remember for the rest of their life is the BEST. There is no greater honor than to be asked to photograph a friend’s wedding day.
Brenna & Hunter are so obviously in love that it’s hard to ignore. Brenna looks at Hunter like he put the stars in the sky and Hunter could not adore Brenna anymore than he does. They are truly wonderful individuals, but they are most certainly a beautiful example of being even better together. I could go on and on about them, but in order to get an idea of what their love looks like, grab a tissue and scroll down to their first look pictures.
Brenna & Hunter’s day was the perfect representation of their personalities and their love. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family as they wed on the grounds of Hunter’s family’s distillery. For anyone who is considering doing an all outdoor wedding, take note from these two because they did it right. The twinkle lights that were strung from each building lit up the night in the softest and most romantic way and it set the perfect mood for this intimate wedding.
We truly fell in love with all the details of their beautiful September wedding. From the dusty blue bridesmaids gowns to the soft green hues of the centerpieces that complimented the wooded grounds of the distillery, we could not get enough of how perfectly this wedding was planned down to every last detail. The night came to a close with a firework show set off as a surprise for the bride & groom. Can you say “perfect night” or what?

It’s bound to happen to someone!
Guys will be guys!
Here’s the moment you need your tissues for! Brenna & Hunter’s first look was the best first look we have ever seen. If this doesn’t convince you to have one on your wedding day, I don’t know what will!
After their sweet first look, we had a few minutes to snag some bride & groom portraits of them before they made it official as husband and wife!
This bee tattoo on Hunter’s right ring finger comes with a story. From the very beginning of their relationship, Hunter has called Brenna “Bee,” and so as a surprise for their wedding day, Hunter got a bee tattooed on his finger for her. The difficult part was keeping it hidden from her for the days leading up to the wedding AND through the entire first look and their portraits, but he did it! The first time Brenna saw the tattoo was at the altar, right before they exchanged vows. However, we love that we got to capture a few pictures of it before she knew it was there 😉
We’re definitely biased, but don’t we have the most beautiful brides? So stunning, Brenna!
This was one good looking wedding party! The different hues of blue in the bridesmaid dresses were our favorite.
The Springfield Distillery is owned by Hunter’s parents, James & Kelly Gordon. The wooded grounds made for the perfect location for their beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception
Now this is how you make a grand entrance!
When you plan for your ceremony to end right when the sun is the most golden you will literally make your photographer’s dreams come true.
For an outdoor reception, we love how Brenna & Hunter chose to transform the space in and around the pavilion. Their details were gorgeous!
Introducing the new Mr. & Mrs. Biggs!
This place at night was a dream!
A surprise fireworks display for the bride & groom? We can’t think of a better way to end the night!
