Last Sunday morning, we had the great privilege of hanging out with Meghan & Andrew at Fort Monroe National Monument in Hampton, VA. It was the perfect, spring morning for an engagement shoot and these two were cute as can be. After having to cancel their shoot on Friday due to the high winds and cold temperatures, Sunday was truly the ideal day to be shooting. We wandered around the former military base and had the best time laughing and getting to know them both. Meghan & Andrew are both history buffs, so we had a great time observing all the natural history around us. Meghan shared with us that her grandfather was even stationed at Fort Monroe at one point during his military career and her mother still has memories of riding her bike over the bridge to get to her first job. When we suggested Fort Monroe for their session, we had no idea that it had such a personal history to Meghan and her family as well.
Meghan & Andrew are beyond adorable together and it took everything in us not to squeal from excitement every time we took a photo of them. Meghan’s smile is guaranteed to light up a room and each time Andrew would look at her, her smile would get a little bigger. These two were so fun, so sweet and so in love that we never wanted the session to end! Take a look at some of our favorite images from their sweet engagement session. We hope to have them in front of our cameras again at the end of this year! 🙂
Her laugh was so real and genuine all day long! All of our cheeks were hurting by the end of the session.
When we found this tree, we nearly jumped up and down with excitement. Such a beautiful addition to their portraits to give it the perfect spring vibe.
We loved Meghan & Andrew’s choice of outfits during their session. They complimented each other so well!
If you follow us on Instagram, you saw the behind the scenes of how we got these shots. Here’s how they turned out! Well worth the climb, we’d say 😉
If you’ve ever been to Fort Monroe, you’d recognize these next few shots. For those that don’t know, Fort Monroe has a series of tunnels that allow you access to the inside of the fort due to the moat that surrounds it. These tunnels are really cool (and also a bit scary, because only one car can fit through at a time) so we stopped and took a few shots while walking through.
Last stop of the session was on a beautiful, wrap-around white porch that we couldn’t resist the urge to stop at.
Blessings,
Michael & Chelsea
