After a long off-season, we were so excited to start our 2017 wedding season with Jacqueline & Christian. We had so much fun with these two during their warm February engagement session and we knew that their wedding day was going to be so special. Jacqueline & Christian are so kind and genuine that when we showed up on their wedding day, we felt like a part of their family. One of our favorite things about this sweet couple is that they truly trusted us to take care of them on the biggest day of their life. If we needed to arrange a room for pictures, they were more than willing to shift. If we felt we needed a few more shots of them before heading to the reception, they said “okay!” There was never a hesitation with them because they trusted that we had their best interest in mind and that we were going to capture their day in a beautiful, memorable way. Have we mentioned how much we love our couples’ lately??
The soon-to-be Mr. & Mrs. chose to get married at the beautiful Jasmine Plantation in Providence Forge, VA. This historic venue has 40 acres with a tree-lined driveway leading up to a beautiful plantation home. Jacqueline and Christian prepared for their big day in the plantation house and had their intimate ceremony outdoors, on the beautiful land. Like their engagement session, their wedding day was unusually warm for the season; it was 92 degrees! We were thankful for the willingness of the bridal party and families during the portrait time. It was so warm, but so beautiful and the day was absolutely perfect.
From the blush pink details of the bridal party to the gorgeous blooms, every little detail of this wedding was beautifully planned. However, as beautiful as the venue and their wedding details were, the most beautiful thing about the day was being able to witness the sweet union of Jacqueline & Christian. It was such an honor to be a part of their day and we could not be more excited to share some of our favorite images from their big day. Take a look a relieve their day with us!
Jacqueline’s sisters, mom & soon-to-be sister in law helped her get ready on her wedding day morning and it made her getting ready process all the more special to have them there.
Look at this stunning bride! Isn’t she radiant?
Anyone else see a striking resemblance between Christian and Clark Kent??
Jacqueline sure knows how to work the camera and I was LOVING it. I mean seriously; look at how beautiful this bride is!
Even amidst the busyness of the morning, both the Jacqueline and Christian took the time to stop and pray with their bridal party. It was so sweet and so moving to witness as their family surrounded them and laid hands on them. These two are truly loved and their marriage had been prayed over countless times before they every exchanged vows. Capturing these moments for them made these images some of our favorite of the day.
Their day was a warm 92 degrees, but their outdoor ceremony was beautiful. With all of the trees, plants and flowers coming back to life after a long winter, we loved shooting at the Jasmine Plantation for their late April wedding.
The backstory of this photo is that right next to the ceremony spot, there is a bell that some people choose to ring once a couple is pronouced man and wife. Well, it was all up to Christian’s little brother to do the honors and, right before they walked back up the aisle, he shot across the yard and rang the noteable bell. It brought some laughs thereafter, but it was such a sweet moment!
We were just walking back up to the plantation house when I remembered that I wanted to take a few photos of them on this cute swing. And boy, am I glad we did. The venue had already started turning on the lights in the trees, which created the beautiful, golden bokeh all behind them in these images. Can you say *swoon*?
Our sweet friends at Crafted Stems did something really unique and special that we loved. They typed up a list of the flowers that the bride and groom chose and noted the symbolizing behind each type. Then at the end, they wrote their own personalized letter to the bride and groom, which we thought was so sweet! We love partnering with other vendors that choose to serve their couples’ in extraordinary ways.
Even though the plantation is well-surrounded by many trees, the light at sunset is too perfect to not take advantage of. We’re always so thankful when our couple’s choose to step away from their reception for a few extra photos before the sun goes down.
What is so funny about this photo is that this pose was one that they were super skeptical about when we asked them to do it at their engagement session. It feels uncomfortable when you’re doing it…until you see the results. In the photo below, I started to directionally instruct them into the pose and Jacqueline said, “oh, you mean ‘our pose’?” Yes, girl! Go on and do your pose 🙂
Time to dance!
Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Sierra!
We pray that you’ll have a long, beautiful and wonderful life together!
Blessings,
Michael & Chelsea
