When Haley reached out to us about doing their Chesapeake couples session, we were so excited! Haley & Andrew have been married since January of this year, but with the rushing around of the Navy, moving and getting Andrew into OSC school, they didn’t have the opportunity to do engagement photos before their big day. We were thrilled to be able to do some low-key and casual couples photos for them to hang in their home.
Great Bridge Lock Park in Chesapeake, VA is kind of a hidden gem, tucked alongside the Great Bridge Locks with a perfect, quiet view of the water and also tons of tall trees that look perfect year round. It’s one of our favorite spots to shoot in the fall because of the leaf colors and it actually holds some history for us too (we used to frequent here while we were dating and watch the sunset over the water – so romantic). We were thankful that the trees were showing off a bit throughout their session and that the sunlight was coming through those trees perfectly.

It didn’t take long for us to ask them to dance. And we’re glad we did, because they seemed the most comfortable while they were dancing together. 
Although Haley & Andrew are married already, they didn’t have the opportunity to take engagement photos prior to the wedding. We were happy to take a few photos of their rings during their session. 
These two laughed with one another so much during their session!
