Hello, friends! We’re happy to be bringing you new content on the blog today with our most recent Fort Monroe Hampton, VA engagement session. Fort Monroe is one of our favorite locations for engagement sessions because of its diversity. Every single area of this former military base is so different and beautiful. You can come here one hundred times and have a completely different look to each session that you photograph here. Also, it’s always so quiet and calm on this little island that you feel like it’s just you and your couple shooting there.
On the weekend of their four year dating anniversary, Evelyn & Harrison drove all the way down from Farmville, VA to join us on a beautiful early September evening to shoot their engagement session. We had such a great time with them, chatting and laughing throughout their shoot. Evelyn & Harrison are fun, sweet, supportive and undeniably in love. They goofed off and were themselves throughout the whole shoot and it felt so natural. Though we always leave sessions feeling like friends with our couples, we really do feel that way about these two. A lot of that is because these two are actually not strangers to us.
Evelyn is the sister of one of our past couples, Madalyn & Brendon, and we were so excited when she reached out to us about photographing her wedding day. In fact, it must be noted that Evelyn messaged us before she and Harrison had even made an official Instagram announcement of their engagement, so we were quite flattered to say the least. We were honored that it was so important to them that we photograph their day that the only answer from us was “yes!” We really loved working with their sweet family for her sister’s wedding and can’t wait to do it again next September. Though we hadn’t come to the decision at the time, since we made our big announcement that we’ll no longer be shooting weddings after 2022, it looks like Evelyn & Harrison’s wedding will be our very last one of our wedding photography career. Evelyn has already been pre-warned that there will probably be tears shed on her wedding day by us, but it just feels right to go out on their wedding day after being a part of their family for the past 3 years.
Although it feels far away right now, we know September 2022 will be here before we know it. We can’t wait to capture your beautiful wedding day, you two!
We hope you enjoyed Evelyn & Harrison’s Fort Monroe Hampton VA engagement session! We can’t wait for their autumn wedding to close out our 2022 wedding season and wedding career!
