For the second year in a row, Rowlands Photography hosted Christmas tree farm mini sessions and we had a great time!
Last year, we hosted at a tree farm in Suffolk, but this year we hosted the sessions at Historic Greenbrier Farms in Chesapeake and we loved it! Sixteen families came out over 2 days and we had a blast with each and every one of them. While last year’s crew was mainly made up of past clients of ours, we had so many new faces this year! Only 6 of the 16 families were past clients, so we had 10 new families to love on and deliver beautiful images to. We loved seeing how our past clients have grown their families since we last saw them (either by pets or children) and catching up with them since we last saw them; for many of them, it’s been since their wedding days several years ago! Needless to say, it was a great two days of shooting back-to-back sessions and we’re already excited for all the Christmas cards we’ll get with their beautiful photos on them!
We hope you enjoy our Christmas tree farm mini sessions at Historic Greenbrier Farms in Chesapeake, VA!
We photographed the gender reveal for this little girl, so it was so good to meet her in person while they were in town over Thanksgiving break! Morgan was a bridesmaid in one of our 2017 weddings! Amanda & Mike were a 2018 wedding couple of ours and it was so good to have them in front of our camera again! Dani & Jim were a 2016 couple of ours and they’ve since had their little boy! It was so good to meet this little guy finally! Melanie & Cody were a 2018 couple of ours, as well as past Christmas mini session clients, so we loved seeing them out here again for more tree farm photos! Tashia was a bridesmaid in one of our 2017 weddings! Having her sweet family out for tree farm minis was such a joy! Kendall & Jordan were a 2017 couple of ours and only in town for a few days, so we were thankful it worked out that we could do these Christmas card photos for them! Alexis was a bridesmaid for one of our 2016 brides! Photographing her and her daughter was such a sweet moment!
If you’re wondering whose kid did the worst throughout all of our Christmas tree farm mini sessions, it was ours. Hahaha.
These photos were hard-fought, but we got one for our Christmas card! Big thanks to my mom for snapping the winning shots. Goes to show that even when you grow up in front of the camera, it still doesn’t make you ready (or happy) about a scheduled photo session. We now have a greater appreciation for family photographers and for our clients. Taking photos with kids (specifically toddler boys) is challenging!
We hope you enjoyed this year’s Christmas Tree Farm mini sessions at Historic Greenbrier Farms in Chesapeake, VA!
