From the moment we arrived at Noah’s Event Venue for a beautiful Chesapeake Virginia wedding, we were welcomed with warm embraces from Katie and her family. Katie & Marshall’s wedding day has been one that we’ve been looking forward to for well over a year and to see it all finally come to life was beautiful. The day was perfectly planned by Katie and her mother and they thought of every detail. We were so excited to see that everyone had a color coordinated schedule of the day they were going off of because we knew that everyone involved was going to do all that they could to make sure everything stayed on track for the day, making our jobs super easy!
After growing up in church together since they were 5 & 6 years old, you could say that Katie & Marshall’s wedding day has been a long time coming. Though they didn’t start dating until they were in college in 2014, their love story is still one of our favorites. When asked what their favorite qualities about one other are, Marshall says that Katie is kind, nurturing and hardworking. Katie says that Marshall’s determination, thoughtful heart and passion for others is part of what drew her to him.
Katie & Marshall couldn’t have asked for better weather on their October wedding day. It was the perfect temperature with the slightest breeze that made the day so very pleasant. Noah’s Event Venue was transformed before our eyes by Katie’s vendor team. The venue has a classically simple look to it already, but added drapes, lighting, florals and decor that Katie and her mom planned out was absolutely beautiful. We were in awe!
Katie & Marshall, we are so very excited that you are finally married! It’s always bittersweet to see a couple to their wedding day, but we know that this isn’t goodbye. We hope to see you frequently and support you well as you begin your marriage together!
Katie’s bridal robe that she wore before putting her gown on had very special significance to her. Her bridal robe was made from her mother’s wedding gown! ! And it was beautiful! Seeing Katie & her mom stand next to each other and look down at the photo of Katie’s mom on her wedding day made me realize how much they look alike! They could be twins!
First looks with bridesmaids are one of my favorite things to capture. The looks on their faces when they see their sweet friend transform into a bride is absolutely priceless.
We love that Katie & Marshall chose to do a private prayer together and then separate prayers with their families. Having a “first touch” is always such a sweet and emotional moment for the bride & groom. Then watching as the bride and groom have hands laid on them, being prayed for by their closest friends and family is so very powerful.
Let’s get these two married!
We have to give a huge shoutout to Katie & Marshall for being the sweetest bride and groom. These two chose to hand every single one of their guests a plate to be served dinner BEFORE they had any food themselves. They allowed them to connect with every guest, say hello and give them hugs. It was such a sweet and unique gesture that we’ve never seen before, so I had to highlight it!
It was a complete honor to be a part of your day, Katie & Marshall! We love you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness and blessings!
