When we showed up to Lee Hall mansion to kick off Katie & Marshall’s engagement session, we couldn’t believe how beautiful the trees were. All the shades of autumn that you would want were represented in the yellow, red and orange trees on the grounds. We strolled around the property for half of their session and took full advantage of the beautiful light that was coming through the vibrant trees. Katie’s beautiful floor length maxi dress was the perfect shade of burgundy that blended well with the fall colors but still popped against every background at Lee Hall. Marshall’s outfit complemented Katie’s perfectly and couldn’t get over how cute these two were during their session.
When it was time to change outfits, we ventured over to the Mariner’s Museum in Newport News, VA for the second half of their session and to catch the sunset. We weren’t disappointed by the glowy sun we were able to capture as it began to set on the water. Is there anywhere better to catch the sunset on the water in Hampton Roads? We don’t think so. The Mariner’s Museum and Park is definitely a hidden gem for those wanting to take full advantage of golden hour.
We had the best time with Katie & Marshall during their session and we think their photos show it. We hope you enjoy them!
We loved this orange and red tree!
This light! Goodness, we were in love.
As the sun began it’s last descent to the horizon, we stole a few extra seconds of time to capture these two before we concluded the session.
