After several months of planning, we finally got to meet up with Amanda & Mike for their engagement session at Pleasure House Point by the Brock Environmental Center. Although it was a breezy 60 degree day, the temperature had dropped down to about 40 degrees by the time the sun went down. And when you’re shooting by the water in Virginia Beach in April, it feels like the wind is going to take your breath away and knock you over at the same time. Through the weather conditions, these two were troopers! If anything, we think the weather made them stay close to keep warm, so it worked out great in the end 🙂
We’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Amanda & Mike this past year due to two of our 2017 couples. Amanda is a former Delta Gamma sister from Christopher Newport University and Mike was her handsome guest at both weddings this past year. We loved photographing them on the dance floor together because they were quite obviously smitten with one another and were always laughing and having fun. When we met them at the first wedding when Amanda was in the bridal party, we loved observing their energy together throughout the night. After seeing them again this past October at the second wedding, we secretly hoped that if they decided to tie the knot that they would choose us to photograph their wedding. So when we received a message two days after they got engaged (and three days before we had Isaiah), we were thrilled! We are so, so excited to shoot their November wedding in New Kent, VA.
Here are some of our favorite images from their session. Take a look!
We bet you won’t guess what he’s whispering in her ear! 😉
Getting in some practice for that first dance!
After spending half of the session at Pleasure House Point, we then ventured over to the Chesapeake Bay side of Shore Drive to take some photos in their second outfits. The beach was very cold, but so worth the shots we got.
These sunset photos are some of our favorite photos of all-time. What a dream!
