Whew, what a year! Our 2017 wedding season was one of our favorite wedding seasons yet! Not only did we have our “Little One” along with us throughout the entire season, but half of our weddings were outside of Hampton Roads, which had us traveling more than we ever have before. While we can’t wait to get back at it again in 2018, we are thankful for the months off that we will have through the winter so that we can catch up on all those things we’ve been setting aside through the busy months, prepare for another amazing wedding season and truly enjoy time as a brand new family of three.
Throughout the year, we post behind the scenes photos of us on our Instagram story while at our engagement sessions and weddings. We love sharing these little sneak peeks of what we do, where we get to go and how a scene can really look on the other side of the camera. Not only is it fun for us to look back and remember those memories with our sweet clients, but this year was especially important for us to capture behind the scenes photos of because our “Little One” was along for the entire ride. He came to all of our engagement sessions, all of our weddings and even hung around for our last wedding of the season (where I was 38w6d pregnant)! We’ll be introducing our son, Isaiah, on the blog soon, but until then, we hope you enjoy looking through our behind the scenes photos from this year.
Our brother, Mark, started getting into videography this year and we had the pleasure of having him accompany us to three of our weddings this year.
Michael is known to enjoy a dance or two on the dance floor at each wedding 😉
Peep the growing bump!
We love including behind the scenes photos like this one so that you can see that not every location we shoot at is flawless and beautiful. Sometimes, we have a tiny amount of space to work with for portraits and we have to place our clients in unlikely locations to capture the perfect background. In this photo, we’re shooting right at the edge of a parking lot, but you’d never know it from their final images!
Vendors have to have fun too!
Bump is growing!
Sometimes, we have to climb, jump and hide in certain places to get the perfect shot. But you better believe we are always willing to do it!
Due to his obvious height advantage, Michael is often enlisted to help hang the brides dress in various places at the beginning of the day when we’re doing detail shots.
Michael again, pulling out all the moves while I test our flash.
Seeing our past brides & grooms is one of our favorite things; especially if they are as fun as Logan. Haha.
Second to last wedding of the year
Last wedding of 2017 and “Little One” was definitely there with us!
Last wedding of the year celebration and selfie.
Special thanks to Chelsea Ruger Photography for assisting us at our last two weddings and for the behind the scenes photos of us.
