One of our favorite things about being wedding photographers is becoming friends with our clients. I have known Sara since 2009 when we met in college, and over the years, she has witnessed our passion for photography grow and our skill get better each year (thank goodness). When Sara reached out to us about shooting her wedding, I was thrilled! It’s amazing to think that one chance meeting 7 years ago led to her thinking of us when it came time to plan her big day. When we met Sara & Tony for their consultation, we got even more excited to be photographing their wedding! Sara & Tony are one of those couples that you just want to be friends with. While Sara is very genuine and kind, Tony is hilarious and can keep a room of people laughing. We couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Once we arrived on the morning of the wedding day, I couldn’t wait to start photographing the beautiful details. As a lover of detail shots, I knew that Sara and her family had been working tirelessly on every detail of her wedding and that all of the details were going to be beautiful. Well, I was not wrong! From her gown to her bouquet and her pearl necklace to her garter, there was so much simplicity and so much beauty to her wedding.
The ceremony and reception took place on Dam Neck Base in Virginia Beach, VA at Shifting Sands. Their brief 15 minute ceremony was the perfect about of time for this sweet couple, because their reception was the celebration they were waiting for. Friends and family surrounded them with love and they danced the night away. Before we knew it, the night was coming to a close and the newlyweds were departing.
We had such a wonderful time photographing Sara & Tony’s wedding day on Saturday and we are so thankful that we got to be a part in their big day! Take a peek at some of our favorite shots from their beach wedding!
This dreamy light made all the beautiful details in Sara’s wedding pop even more!
Traditionally, we don’t tend to share photos of our bride’s garter, however we had to make an exception for Sara. The morning of her wedding, Sara told me that the garter she would be wearing had been in her family for over 100 years! What a wonderful legacy of love to take part in and incorporate into Sara’s wedding day.
This first look had us ALL crying! Tony couldn’t hold back the tears when he saw his beautiful bride.
Even though he had already seen his stunning bride, Tony still teared up as Sara was walking down the aisle. So, so sweet to witness.
This bridal party was so kind, genuine and fun all day long. We had a blast with them!
You can’t have a wedding in Virginia Beach at Shifting Sands without adding a little bit of the beach to your wedding!
What happens when you have a bubble exit after the sun goes down? You get photos like this technicolor scene!
