When we first met Ellie & Josh, we were captivated by the way they love each other. Sitting next to each other at our consultation, any time Josh spoke, Ellie would just smile at him. They are one of those couples that you can tell from the first time that you meet them that they respect one another and are dedicated to serving each other. In addition to being terribly cute together, Ellie & Josh are so genuine and kind that you can’t help but gravitate to them.
Fort Monroe in Hampton, VA was the perfect location for this sweet couples engagement session. Fort Monroe dates all the way back to the 1800’s and you can see it in the intricacy of the details of each building. It was in 2011 that Fort Monroe that the formerly active Army base was decommissioned and became a national monument. We were enthralled with the history of this star-shaped fort. In fact, Fort Monroe is the largest moated fort in North America. For two people that have never seen an actual moat before, we were thrilled to explore such a beautiful and historic location.
As we ventured around the grounds, it became increasingly clear that our job was going to be so easy. Although Josh disclosed that he a private person, he said, “I’m doing this for Eleanor,” and we captured some real magic between these two sweet souls. Ellie & Josh are both gifted musically, so when it came time to pull up the blanket and grab the guitar, we were serenaded as the sun began setting. We are so excited to share these sweet photos. Take a few minutes to slow down and watch as these two melt your heart.
Isn’t Ellie just stunning?
You know how we love double exposures. The sky was too pretty not to capture it!
