From the moment we arrived to the church on William & Melissa’s big day, we felt like family. The late afternoon ceremony put the day at such an ease and there were never any moments of panic, as the bride and groom prepared to say their “I do’s.” After arriving and saying our hello’s to the bridal party, we set off to take detail shots. And, boy, we were in detail HEAVEN. Melissa had prepared a box of things that she “thought we may like to photograph,” and I literally jumped up and down in excitement. One of the only unscripted parts of the day is when we get to do detail shots, so we were so excited to have so many well thought out options; including two Harry Potter books, already marked at chapters that the couple wanted photos of. My inner book nerd squealed in excitement. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you already know why.
Melissa’s bouquet was BEAUTIFUL. As an east coast photography team, it’s not often that we get the chance to spend time photographing succulents. The way the green succulents paired with the blush pink roses and mint green bridesmaids dresses, we were in awe at how beautiful every single detail of the wedding was planned out. Can you believe she didn’t even have a wedding planner? This family is creative, hardworking and truly wonderful to be around. These details had us falling in love!
Bethel Church Life Center in Hampton, VA was the perfect location for William & Melissa’s DIY wedding. The small courtyard made for the perfect setting for the bride & groom’s first look and the greenery surrounding the church was a great backdrop for their bridal party photos. Inside the Life Center, the tall, open ceilings and staircases on each side made for a beautiful entry for the bridal party and the beautiful bride. William & Melissa’s intimate ceremony was beautiful from beginning to end.
William & Melissa, we are so thankful we got to be a part of your special day. Thank you for choosing us and thank you for treating us like family! Enjoy!
